Ergo

Ergo

Ergo has done three tours of duty on Defence Forces missions abroad. On one occasion, Ergo, who serves as a paramedic, needed help himself due to an accident. While in service in 2011, a damaged explosive device exploded in his hand, and he lost three fingers on his left hand, sustaining injuries to his face and chest, and needed a transfusion on the operating table.

Today he continues to work as a paramedic and is an active apheresis donor at the Medical Centre’s Blood Centre, with more than 30 donations to his name. He became a donor at age 18 and is fairly sure that he will one day make his 100th donation. “It’s simply a great feeling to help others,” he says.
