Everyone in Tallinn is invited to donor tents to give blood!
The North Estonia Medical Centre’s Blood Centre invites the public to the tents on Tallinn’s Freedom Square to make blood donations on 13 July from 12-18 and on 14 July from 11-17.
“The donor tent tour that started in Haapsalu and then went to Rakvere and Keila, continues now in the heart of Estonia’s capital, on Tallinn’s Freedom Square. We invite everyone in Tallinn to do some good,” said Ülo Lomp, the Blood Centre’s development director and initiator of the donor tents project. He added: “We are very glad to invite everyone who cares about themselves and others to give blood in our cheerful yellow-coloured tents. There’s always a pleasant atmosphere, great prize drawings are held and entertainment is provided by the mascot, Dona the Pelican. All people in Tallinn who are in good health and want to do some good are very welcome!”
On the four days that the Tallinn donor tents operated last year, some 310 people gave blood, of whom one third, that is, 92, were donating for the first time. A total of 140 litres of valuable blood was collected.
The tour, which runs from May to the middle of September, makes stops in nine cities and towns: Tallinn, Keila, Rapla, Paide, Haapsalu, Rakvere, Pärnu, Tartu and Viljandi. Donor tents will be operating on Tallinn’s Freedom Square
