Helis

Helis’s decision to become a blood donor came about because a friend has haemophilia – a congenital condition where a person’s blood doesn’t clot. The disease can be kept under control through transfusions.

Helis was glad that she could do something to help her friend. Helis, who is B positive, has now given blood for over ten years and she has also “recruited” her boyfriend to assist, as he has the universal O negative blood type.
